Earlier this year we told you about Micky D’s new all-day breakfast offerings, then we reported on their up-and-coming sirloin burgers. Now, the burger baron is shaking things up again, but this time, honing in on their build-your-own-burger machines, which are currently in 2,000 of their U.S locations. It seems customers enjoying crafting their own custom burgers using the touch-screen platform (some even going totally overboard, creating 9,800-calorie monstrosities) so they aren’t completely trashing the machines, however, McDonald's is testing a new, scaled-down version called “TasteCrafted.”
The new machine narrows user’s options—which, before the update, were essentially endless—to three bun offerings, three different meats (beef and grilled or crispy chicken) and four styles of “chef-inspired” toppings. Topping combos include: bacon clubhouse (bacon, grilled onions, cheddar, Big Mac sauce, lettuce and tomato), pico guacamole (guacamole, pico de gallo, cheddar, ranch and lettuce), hot jalapeño (jalapeños, pepper jack cheese, spicy mayo, lettuce and tomato) and deluxe (red onion, mayo, lettuce and tomato).
The Golden Arches hasn’t revealed any nutritional information on these mix and match meals yet, but we’ll be keeping our eyes peeled and plan to share updates as soon as we—burp!—learn more!
