Dairy Queen is celebrating its 75th anniversary and the beginning of spring by giving out free vanilla soft serve cones next Monday, March 16. Are you salivating yet? Us, too. While no coupon or purchase is necessary to score the treat, the eatery asks that customers consider making a donation to the Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals, a non-profit that raises funds to help treat little ones in over 170 children’s hospitals.
So although indulging in a cone won’t put much strain on your wallet (unless you make a particularly generous donation, which we fully support), your waistline won’t get off as scot-free. According to DQ, the free treat has 230 calories, 7 grams of fat, 4.5 grams of saturated fat, 36 grams of carbs and 26 grams of sugar. While the calories aren’t out of control, that small, unassuming cone does serve up over a day’s worth of sugar a third of the day’s saturated fat, so this is definitely something to indulge in on your cheat day.
