The Crazy New Energy Drink from Bulletproof Coffee

Some people collect an arsenal of shoes, slowly amassing the perfect pair for every occasion. We collect drinks: weight loss smoothies for the morning, fat-incinerating green tea for the afternoon. Now Bulletproof is hoping to oust coconut water with their newest product as our healthy sports drink of choice.

The company’s butter-laced coffee and K-cups may have garnered plenty of attention from the food and health industries, but when we asked diet experts to weigh in, we found that the jury was still out about the validity of its health claims, which run the gamut from weight loss to increased concentration. Their newest product, an MCT (medium-chain triglyceride) oil-laced water — aptly named FATwater — boasts similar claims like instant hydration and “clean-burning energy” in hopes of convincing you to abandon your bottle of coconut water.

Available in bottles and squeeze-bottle drop concentrate, the pure fat-infused water comes in three Stevia-sweetened fruit flavors (orange, lemon and berry) and unflavored for the adventurous. While we may give the new drink a go, we doubt it will make us abandon science-backed coconut water as a healthy sports drink alternative.
