The Cheesecake Factory Just Brought Back These Beloved Items

The restaurant chain has your favorite holiday dessert, plus a special offer for the new year.

Sure, there are at least 10 best ways to avoid holiday weight gain, but we're not necessarily thinking about that right this second. We've got cheesecake on the brain. That's because The Cheesecake Factory has brought back two beloved items, and together, they promise to keep us rich in taste for the next four months.

The first is the seasonal favorite, Peppermint Bark Cheesecake, which is nothing short of a love-letter to cheesecake fans who dream in white chocolate and mint. Available by the slice and as a 10-inch cake perfect for family gatherings, this decadent treat starts with chocolate-crusted, creamy, white-chocolate cheesecake swirled with chunks of chocolate peppermint bark candy. It's then topped with a layer of smooth white chocolate mousse and a sprinkling of still more peppermint candy.

The other Cheesecake Factory item the restaurant chain is bringing back is the Slice of Joy gift card offer. A holiday season tradition, it's one of  The Cheesecake Factory's "favorite ways to thank our guests for their loyalty," says founder and CEO David Overton, according to Business Wire.

Charmingly cheesecake-positive, the offer entitles you to one free slice of cheesecake for every 25 dollars in Cheesecake Factory gift cards you purchase in a single transaction between now and the stroke of midnight, January 1, 2021 (Pacific Time). All gift cards, whether physical or electronic, are eligible as long as you purchase them either in person at a Cheesecake Factory restaurant or online.

Apart from the fact that redeeming Slice of Joy cards is limited to one slice per guest per visit, the only other catch here is that Peppermint Bark Cheesecake is available only through the holidays, while Slice of Joy cards are redeemable only after the holidays. So you can enjoy Peppermint Bark Cheesecake right this very minute, but you won't be able to use Slice of Joy cards to nab a free slice.

Then again, perhaps that's not the worst thing in the world. After all, nutritionally speaking, the Peppermint Bark Cheesecake ranks among the worst of all of The Cheesecake Factory's cheesecakes, according to registered dietitians. As you can see from the full ranking, some desserts are actually cheat-day friendly, and that includes their original cheesecake. There are also some other healthy choices on the restaurant's famously enormous menu.
