Big changes are in the works for Chipotle Mexican Grill—and we think you’re going to love ‘em!
After disaster struck earlier this year in the form of E. Coli, Chipotle has been working hard to regain their customers’ trust. And what better way to win it back than with booze and burgers? Nope, this isn’t a joke! Here’s the 4-1-1.
According to recent reports, one of Chipotle’s Denver locations will be testing a new unique beverage menu with both alcoholic and non-alcoholic options. Standard on-the-rocks margaritas have been a mainstay on their menu for forever, but the chain is upping their drink game with the addition of agave-sweetened frozen margs, sangria, beer, and non-alcoholic sips like watermelon agua fresca (swoon!) and hibiscus-lemongrass tea. Most of us are going to have to wait for a Chipotle happy hour, though. The company doesn’t have plans to roll out these menu options nationwide quite yet, but we’re hoping it’s high on their list of urgent tasks!
Along with the exciting drink additions, Chipotle has also applied for a trademark for “Better Burger,” a patty and bun concept with the same vision as Chipotle—"food with integrity." While there hasn’t been an official announcement about the business move yet, Chipotle does own ShopHouse, a Southeast Asian food chain, and Pizzeria Locale, a wood-fired pizza concept, so we’re not too surprised that they’re interested in getting into the burger business, too. As big fans of Chipotle, we will certainly be waiting with bated breath for more details on the concept to come to light! Oh and Chipotle, if you’re reading this, we’d be more than happy to taste test as many potential menu items as you’d like!
