Costco E. Coli Recall Spreads to Target, Grocery Stores

We reported last week on the E. Coli outbreak linked to chicken salad sold at Costco; now the recall has spread to 12 states and affects several major grocery chains.

Nineteen people have been sickened by the bacteria which has been traced back to a celery blend used in the Costco salad; 155,000 items have been recalled including salad kits and vegetable trays and other goods sold at Walmart, Sam’s Club, Costco, Target, and the grocery chains Albertson's and Safeway.

Starbucks also pulled 45,000 holiday turkey paninis from more than 1,300 shops on the West Coast, although no one has been sickened by them. In addition, other states have been affected including Georgia, Arkansas, Nebraska and Hawaii are also affected.
