Here's How to Get Free Ben & Jerry's Tomorrow
If you're an ice cream fan, you're in luck—and if you don't eat dairy, you're in luck, too. Ben & Jerry's is giving away free scoops of its non-dairy ice cream flavors on Friday, November 1, from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m.
What ice cream flavors are included?
Ben & Jerry's has two non-dairy ice cream flavors available in Scoop Shops: chocolate chip cookie dough and coconut almond fudge chip. The chain is careful not to call the treats "ice cream," though—technically, the cookie dough is a "vanilla non-dairy frozen dessert." But if it looks like ice cream and tastes like ice cream—and is vegan-friendly to boot—that's good enough for us.
The coconut almond fudge chip, meanwhile, has recently returned from Ben & Jerry's so-called "flavor graveyard" of treats that are no longer available for sale. But it sounds like the coconutty, fudgy flavor was so beloved that the chain ended up bringing it back for a glorious second round. And if you missed it the first time, now's your chance to try it for free.
Do you have to make a purchase to get the free ice cream?
There's no catch here: The two vegan flavors at Ben & Jerry's are completely free. (Chances are good that you'll have to wait in line for your free scoop, though.) Ben & Jerry's is offering the free scoops in celebration of World Vegan Day, which happens to fall on November 1st. The brand's imagery may rely on illustrations of cows—it is a dairy company, after all—but this week, Ben & Jerry's is focusing on its vegan options.
It's also worth pointing out that the deal is only for Ben & Jerry's customers in the United States. (A few international fans chimed in on Twitter to express their disappointment about not getting a free scoop—it is World Vegan Day, not National Vegan Day, after all.) And if you are in the U.S., it might still be worth checking with your local Ben & Jerry's Scoop Shop to make sure they're participating in the promotion. After that, all that's left is to show up to Ben & Jerry's and enjoy the sweet, tasty non-dairy treat.
