Kate Middleton and Mary Berry Are Filming a Christmas Special

Talk about a dream team!

It's the collaboration of the century. Mary Berry, a former, much-beloved judge on The Great British Bake Off, and Kate Middleton, the actual future queen of England, are teaming up for what's sure to be a truly scrumptious televised holiday celebration. The Duchess of Cambridge is scheduled to be the guest of honor for Berry's hotly-anticipated one-off Christmas special for the BBC. But the most delicious part of this news is that the women also appear to be true friends, so get ready for a voyeuristic look at a royal-grade friendship you can usually only spot in the tabloids.

Berry and Middleton initially met through their charity work in 2013 at an event for the organization Child Bereavement UK, and they have been friends ever since. During the holiday special, the two women will prepare a feast for charity workers volunteering on Christmas and New Years, perfectly tapping into their shared love of great food and charitable giving.

Over the years, the pair have bonded further through a mutual love of gardening. Berry is president of the National Garden Scheme and an ambassador for the Royal Horticultural Society; Middleton dabbles in gardening, too, and just this year she participated in the Chelsea Flower Show. And the chemistry recently captured between the two women at the Royal Horticultural Society's Wisley Back to Nature festival suggests that we're in for a lot of friendly laughs.

Details about The Mary Berry Royal Christmas Show (that's the working title) are being kept tightly under wraps. Presumably, it will take place around Christmas, but an official date and time have yet to be released by the BBC. (For what it's worth, last year, Berry's Christmas show first aired on December 17th, so it's safe to assume this special will show up before Santa does.)

"All will be revealed in due course," a spokesperson for the BBC told The Mirror. In the meantime, we can't wait to see the royal meal these two dream up!
