How Parents are Teaching Their Kids to Cook During Lockdown

What better way to kill time during self-quarantine than cooking with your family?
Benji_edwards

Coming up with fun, educational, and non-exasperating things to do with your family during coronavirus lockdown is quite a task.  (I'm a parent, so I know.) Yes, we are all doing our best to strike the right balance between family fun time, and, well, not wanting to break all social distancing guidelines. But the solution to this one may be simpler than you think: get your kids cooking!

When the remote schoolwork has ended and screen-time no longer works as a distraction, just think of it this way: Spending time together as a family in the kitchen has many benefits.

For starters, teaching our kids how to cook is a project-based exercise that often has many steps, so it naturally encourages collaborative teamwork and bonding. Plus, it's result-oriented! Meaning: When you and your kids are done, you should have something yummy to eat, that's shareable with the rest of your family.

This is why, during the coronavirus lockdown, moms and dads have been posting uplifting food stories, showing how they're making things happen in the kitchen with their offspring. Here are a few of my favorites that will warm your heart too:
