Born on Leap Day? Here Are the 3 Best Food Deals Just for You

Celebrate the extra day of the year with some major discounts and freebies.

Leap Day babies, unite! It's been four years since the last Leap Day, and one more day of an already short month means one more opportunity to take advantage of a great deal.

Brands everywhere are leaping (sorry, not sorry) to celebrate that extra day of the year with deals and promotions that are so good, they can only come around every four years. If you're looking to splurge on this bonus day, or if you're celebrating your actual birthday for the first time since the last Leap Day in 2016, we've gathered some of the best deals and freebies your favorite restaurants are offering on Monday, Feb. 29.

Olive Garden

Leaplings—the cute term for anyone born on Feb. 29—will be able to cram three years' worth of celebrations into one day at Olive Garden. If your birthday falls on the 29th, Olive Garden is offering restaurant-goers four free Dolcinis (one for every year you've missed out) as a gift to you on this day. But if your birthday doesn't fall on Leap Day, Olive Garden won't leave you hanging. The restaurant will offer a discount on its $5 Take Home deal, slashing the cost of first entrée to only $2.29 with the purchase of an in-restaurant entrée.

Postmates and Popeyes are teaming up for the holiday to offer a stellar deal: Anyone ordering at least a minimum of $15 in Popeyes Chicken from Postmates between Feb. 24 and Feb. 28 will receive a promo code for a free chicken sandwich to redeem on Feb. 29. You can now live in a world where there's no shame in eating Popeyes twice a week, because this chicken sandwich was a gift and you don't want to be rude by declining.

7-Eleven

Maybe celebrating Leap Day for you means eating 29 slices of pizza…well, 7-Eleven has made that purchase much easier on your wallet with their Leap Day specials. For example, you can order a whole pizza for just $2.29 at participating stores (and while supplies last) or for delivery through the 7NOW delivery app on Leap Day. Oh, you hadn't heard of the 7NOW delivery app? The company wants to change that, too. New users can use the promo code 29OFF50 at checkout and receive a $29 discount on any 7NOW delivery order over $50.

Keep in mind that brands are still releasing information on what they'll be offering for this year's Leap Day, but Buca di Beppo, Del Frisco's Grille, Great American Cookies, Hard Rock Cafe, and Pizza Hut all offered deals in 2016. So keep your eyes peeled for any announcements from those places specifically in the next week!

Go out and celebrate your birthday leaplings. And remember what Leap Day William from 30 Rock taught us, "Real life is for March!"
