Healthy food alternatives are showing up on menus everywhere—from Chick-fil-A's kale salad to the protein plates at Starbucks, it's becoming much easier to choose a healthier option when you're in a hurry and on a budget. And you can bet McDonald's isn't shying away from this popular trend either. In fact, they're now teaming up with the well-known yogurt company Chobani to add Greek yogurt-style smoothies and parfaits to their restaurant menus.
The new nutritious breakfast choices are being tested on the menu at around 800 restaurants throughout Los Angeles and San Diego. These products are being offered on the "Simple Delights Menu," along with other good-for-you items like egg white breakfast bowls and apple slices. Although they haven't shared which flavors are going to be used, we're happy to hear they're incorporating a higher-protein pick that's much better than the steak, egg, and cheese bagel, which is numbero uno on our list of Worst of McDonald's Breakfasts.
We hope we keep seeing these kinds of healthy additions to menus—because, yeah, we're lovin' it.
