You Can Now Buy This Beloved Fast Food Item Exclusively at Walmart

In a company first, one of the most famous fast food items will now come in package form.

Krispy Kreme, the doughnut chain famous for its "Hot Light" that alerts customers that a new batch of glazed doughnuts is fresh off the line, just came out with one of the most creative tactics to deliver customers their favorite menu items at home. And it's a first for the company.

As of June 22nd, Krispy Kreme's beloved doughnuts will now come in packaged, bite-size form exclusively at your local Walmart—perfect for on-the-go enjoyment.

The new offerings come in two main product categories: Doughnut Bites and Mini Crullers.

The bites come in four flavors, including original, chocolate, apple cinnamon, and a limited-time strawberry. The crullers are available in three flavors: original glazed, blueberry, and a seasonal lemon flavor.

Right now, you can only buy the bites and crullers in-store at your local Walmart, but starting in July 2020, you'll also be able to order them online through Walmart Grocery: Walmart's grocery delivery service.

While Krispy Kreme is not the first restaurant chain to offer its popular menu items in grocery stores (there are also these 15 Popular Restaurant-Branded Foods You Can Buy at the Supermarket), the company's timing with this new launch couldn't be at a more perfect moment.

In the wake of COVID-19, fast food chains have had to come up with creative solutions to drive sales. After restaurants had to close entirely or switch to a drive-thru and takeaway model, it's no surprise that sales were significantly down over the past few months. While some chains are choosing to go back to operating as usual, other restaurants are trying new tactics. For example, Starbucks is adopting this McDonald's strategy in order to survive, and the coffee chain will be moving forward with shuttering 400 locations and opening up more locations with pickup services.

We have to say, being able to stock our pantries with our favorite doughnuts is much more exciting than a new restaurant location. If you're headed to Walmart to pick up these new offerings, make sure you know ahead of time that Walmart May Remove This Key Area From Its Stores for Good.
