5 Changes Aldi is Making Now
Whether you're a loyal customer or a first-time visitor, it's always an adventure to browse the aisles at ALDI. The low-cost chain is no stranger to creating an award-winning shopping experience.
That experience is currently undergoing some changes, and fans have much to anticipate. To get up to speed before your next grocery shopping trip, we rounded up everything you need to know in one place!
And to find out what may be missing during your next shopping trip, here are the Grocery Shortages To Expect in 2021, According to Experts.
ALDI is opening new stores.
Fast-food chains are adding chicken sandwiches, supermarkets are adding COVID-19 vaccination sites, and ALDI is adding to its more than 2,000 stores! By next year, 100 new ALDI locations will be open, with at least 35 in Florida, the chain revealed earlier this year. One state will also see its first ALDI open up: Are you ready, Louisiana?!
It's adding curbside pickup.
We're still in a pandemic, so in addition to expanding, ALDI is also adding contactless curbside pickup to 1,200 stores.
"We're incredibly proud to continue growing in all aspects of our business, from opening new stores to enhancing our eCommerce offerings, especially in light of the challenges businesses have faced in the last year," CEO Jason Hart said in a statement.
ALDI is adding new products.
March means St. Patrick's Day, and ALDI is keeping up with the times. Irish-inspired favorites are among the new products that ALDI is adding to its low-priced lineup. A 30-ounce box of ready-to-bake Shepherd's Pie is only $6.99, and you can finish off the meal with a slice of Bake Shop Irish Cream Cheesecake for under $5.
The official start of spring is also inching closer, so be on the lookout for Easter candy and garden supplies like bulbs, plants, and seeds.
ALDI is creating more vegan items.
Speaking of new items, ADLI is offering more vegan products—and attracting a lot of buzz in the process. Though it's not brand new, ALDI's vegan Almondmilk Coffee Creamer was recently voted America's favorite in the Coffee category in the 2021 Product of the Year Awards.
Zesty Italian Meatless Meatballs are also turning heads and satisfying cravings. One reviewer on Redditt claims they're a "must-try"—even for meat-eaters. Others agree, saying they tried them in bolognese and meatball subs and on top of pizza.
ALDI is giving workers an incentive to get a COVID-19 vaccine.
Like a few other grocery store chains, ALDI is paying its employees to get vaccinated. ALDI is giving out two hours' worth of pay for each shot, and both the Moderna and the Pfizer inoculations require two doses.
"The company continues to work with government and health care officials to do its part to reduce exposure to COVID-19 and will continue exploring further ways to enhance vaccine accessibility," ALDI says. "For example, the company will implement on-site vaccination clinics at its warehouse and office locations to ensure its employees have easy access to the vaccine."
