Costco Just Added This New Bonus Perk for Members
If you thought America's favorite warehouse chain truly had it all, think again. Costco just quietly began selling audiobooks.
Since Costco didn't formally announce this new business venture, it's unclear how long the warehouse's audiobook store has been online. After buying audiobooks on Costco's website, members can listen to them through a free app, which appears to have been released this month. Only Costco members living in the U.S. can currently purchase audiobooks from the warehouse, according to Good E Reader. (Related: Costco Foods You Should Always Avoid, According to Nutritionists)
The warehouse seems to be prioritizing bundles and collections that range in price from less than $10 to around $45, according to Fox Business. As usual, Costco is known for big savings when you buy in bulk. For example, the warehouse is selling a collection of biographies for $29.99. The price for all three books is $10 less than what Audible charges for one of the individual titles, Good E Reader reported.
News of the new audiobook stores comes as experts predict a rise in membership prices at Costco. The last one took place in 2017, and they come about every five and a half years. A Gold Star Executive membership rose $10 to $120 that year, while the Gold Star Everyday membership increased $5 to $60.
