Costco Majorly Marked Down the Price of This Beloved Summer Beverage
It's still summer and PSL season is right around the corner, so it's still too soon to be thinking about the holidays and all the fun grocery items that are available then like desserts, decor, and, of course, wine Advent calendars. Forget hot chocolate, mint, and even caramel apples, cinnamon, and pumpkin, since there's still time to enjoy the warmer weather. And right now Costco is making it really cheap to soak up the last of the summer sun.
The Hello Summer Wine Sampler hit Costco warehouse shelves earlier this year, offering five white, four red, and three Rose 1/2 bottle (375 ml) wines for $50. It was already a good deal—essentially members could get the same amount of wine as six bottles for about $8.33 each. But one Reddit user/Costco member just noticed the item's price tag, and it's significantly lower.
Doing some math again, the Costco summer wine sampler comes out to $1.66 per 375 ml, or just over $3.30 for every 750 ml of wine (this is the size of a regular bottle). Thanks to this incredible price cut, the original poster, Reddit user @henergizer, said they picked up two boxes, saving about $60. The cheap price is really appealing, because as another user said," Whenever I see a 7 at the end of the price, all rationality goes out the window."
This box isn't available on the website, so you'll have to check the warehouse in your area for it. The full list includes a red blend, a Macabeo, a Pino Grigio, a Cabernet Sauvignon, Chardonnay, a Sweet Red, a Sangiovese, and more. A few other Reddit users commented on the taste of these—some like the wines while others are not fans, but the fact that they come in half-bottle sizes is super convenient if you don't like one.
If you're part of this camp, no worries. Just think, there are only about three months until the Costco wine Advent calendar comes back!
