Particularly now, since the two that are available are essentially identical," he says.
Dr. Fauci Says You Must Get Tested to Avoid COVID
"We're doing much better on testing right now," according to Dr. Fauci. "You know, you probably heard just a couple of days ago that there's a test now that's available—or will be soon available—in pharmacies that we're investing hundreds of millions of dollars to scale up so that you can have up to 19 million of them per month made. And their point of care, you can get them in a drug store, you bring them home. It takes 15 minutes. It's a bit expensive. Now $30 to $35. The price will come way down. When we start ordering millions and millions and millions of doses. So we aren't doing a lot."

If you really want to get this outbreak on the control, you have to have uniform and universal mask wearing."

Stay at least six feet apart from other people. "To practice social or physical distancing, stay at least 6 feet (about 2 arm lengths) from other people who are not from your household in both indoor and outdoor spaces," says the CDC. "Social distancing should be practiced in combination with other everyday preventive actions to reduce the spread of COVID-19, including wearing masks, avoiding touching your face with unwashed hands, and frequently washing your hands with soap and water for at least 20 seconds."

…like crowds, "particularly indoor," says Dr. Fauci. "Yeah, I think it's pretty clear when you've seen congregate settings where people gathered indoors without a mask," Fauci has said in the past, referencing last year's Sturgis motorcycle rally, responsible for up to 250,000 infections, per some estimates. "There's no doubt that you see, we've seen that with the Sturgis rally. We've seen that with a number of other situations. We have seen it in clear cut examples of people getting together in a congregate way, particularly indoor, where you trace after that, there's clear outbursts."
Dr. Fauci Says Use Caution at Indoor Restaurants
Be careful in indoor spaces, and that goes for eating indoors, which Dr. Fauci advises against. But since some restaurants are reopening, "If you do indoor dining, you do it in a spaced way where you don't have people sitting right next to each other," he said adding that "good airflow" is key. In other words, avoiding breathing other people's breath.
