An elevated temperature is a key sign that your body is battling some sort of an infection or illness. According to Dr. Fauci, fever is one of the most common coronavirus symptoms, with 83-99% of people reporting it.

A cough is another common COVID-19 symptom, according to Dr. Fauci. The COVID-19 cough tends to be dry and without mucus. He maintains that 59-82% of those infected with the virus reported it as a symptom.

Fatigue

Dr. Fauci also explains that extreme exhaustion is another common indicator of the virus, with 44-70% reporting it. For most of those who are infected, the symptom is temporary and their energy returns when the virus runs its course. However, for others who are considered long haulers, it can continue for months on end.

Anorexia

This refers to a loss of appetite, not the eating disorder. According to Dr. Fauci, 40-84% of people lose their appetite and stop eating during a COVID-19 infection.

Shortness of Breath

Another defining symptom of COVID-19 is shortness of breath, according to Dr. Fauci, who maintains that the respiratory infection causes 31-40% people to struggle with breathing when they are battling the virus.

Myalgia, aka Muscle Aches and Pains

Dr. Fauci maintains that muscle aches and pains (myalgia) is another common COVID-19 symptom, with 11-35% reporting the symptom. This week, Ellen DeGeneres revealed she had "excruciating" back pain from COVID.
