Frosted Flakes Is Releasing a Brand-New Cereal Flavor
Classic Frosted Flakes have been a grocery staple since our childhoods, but there's a brand-new flavor of the beloved cereal that's about to hit grocery store shelves in April, Kellogg's just announced. For the first time ever, Tony the Tiger is stepping aside to let a close friend take center court on the front of the cereal box.
Basketball Hall of Fame member Shaquille O'Neal will be featured alongside Tony on the packaging. Inside, you'll find classic Frosted Flakes mixed with crispy, mini cinnamon-dusted basketball-shaped pieces. Both pairings create one slam dunk partnership. The new cereal will be available for a limited time starting later this spring, Kellogg's tells Eat This, Not That!. We don't yet have the nutritional information, but you may want to find out if the original cereal is on our list of The Unhealthiest Cereals on the Planet.
Though this pairing is new, Shaq has long been a fan of Tony. While playing for the Boston Celtics in 2010, Shaq revealed that he ate a ton of cereal, mainly Frosted Flakes. The 7-foot-1, 345-pound basketball player called them a "super enhancement cereal." Shaq also blamed eating too much of the cereal for memory loss after criticizing coach George Karl Even earlier in 1998, according to CNBC.
