Texas-based Mooyah Burgers hopes to open between 15 and 20 locations in Phoenix alone.

Since its founding in Plano, Texas in 2007, Mooyah Burgers, Fries & Shakes has expanded to dozens of states and to several countries, bringing its vegetarian, paleo, keto, and other burgers to new and returning fans. It's popped up in Canada, Qatar, Bahrain, and Oman before, but now the fast-food chain is planning more aggressive expansion on U.S. soil.

Currently, there are almost 80 Mooyah locations in 21 states ranging from California to New York, from Texas to Montana, across much of the south, and in Florida. It hopes to add up to 20 locations in the Phoenix, Arizona marketplace alone within the next 7 to 10 years, according to Phoenix news station ABC15.com. But that's not all! The chain uses an entirely franchise-based model without corporately owned stores, an approach likely to continue as Mooyah expands further. With this in mind, these new Phoenix locations would be on top of new Mooyah restaurants that are already confirmed to open in Las Vegas in the near future, with these units being the first that the chain will open in the state of Nevada.

The growth into Arizona will surely not mark the last expansion for the chain, which prides itself not only on fresh ingredients but also on its brand's tongue-in-cheek humor. According to their site's About Us page: "In the coming years we will remain committed to serving you the freshest, finest food. And as our plan for world domination plays out, other restaurants will wither away until there is only Mooyah. Yes, the future looks bright for all of us."

The Mooyah expansion isn't the only one to keep an eye on in the near future. This beloved burger chain is also planning an aggressive expansion.
