This Beloved Pepsi Soda Is Making a Comeback

Missing the taste of your favorite soda can leave you feeling blue. Thankfully, one long lost beverage may be about to make a comeback. So who's ready to enjoy an ice-cold Pepsi Blue on a hot day?
Fans will remember Pepsi Blue's debut in 2002, followed by its icy exit only two years later. Now, the beloved berry-flavored soda is braced to return for eight weeks this summer, according to a Reddit post from user TigersFan1872. Even though details are scant, commenters aren't holding back with their excitement. (Related: While this product is coming soon, here are Grocery Shortages To Expect in 2021, According to Experts.)

"If this is true, I will drive for hours to get my hands on as many bottles as possible," one said. "This is my favorite Pepsi. I'm soooo excited!!!" a second wrote. If another commenter is correct, Pepsi Blue will be available by the end of May.
An ingredient called Blue 1 is used to give the soda its signature color. It has been linked to cancer in several studies involving animals, and the Center for Science in the Public Interest recommends avoiding it. There's no word yet on whether the comeback would mean an ingredient change. (Related: Here are the Dangerous Side Effects of Drinking Soda Every Day, According to Science.)
