You'll be able to get pizza, pastries, salad, and more!
FACT CHECKED BY Mura Dominko

The number of McDonald's locations inside of Walmart stores has declined slowly over the last decade, and now there are fewer than ever. Estimates say only about 150 out of 875 will remain after the latest wave of closures. So what's happening to the restaurant spaces in all those Walmart stores? Other fast-food restaurants are moving in, of course!

Soon, options like pizza, pastries, salad, and more will be available from these fast-food spots when you've worked up an appetite browsing the aisles of America's largest grocery chain. (Related: This Is the Best Supermarket in America, New Survey Says.)

Don't have a need for a full Domino's pizza? How about a coffee and a muffin? Test locations of La Madeleine French Bakery & Cafe are in the works in 10 Texas Walmarts, including one in Garland that is slated to open in July. Others are planned for Fort Worth, North Richland Hills, Cleburne, Granbury, Dallas, and Denton.

There will be serve-and-go options in addition to a dine-in menu (with an exclusive pizza option, too).

"We're very excited about Walmart's curated food service experience for customers," La Madeleine CEO Lionel Ladouceur said about the partnership in a statement. "We look forward to making it even more convenient for the DFW community to enjoy the la Madeleine experience, while also introducing our French comfort food to Walmart shoppers that are looking for more diverse dining choices."

Walmart is testing an in-store Taco Bell restaurant, as the company is "definitely looking to bring in new and exciting brands," Avani Dudhia, a Walmart corporate spokesperson, told Supermarket News.

There's no word yet on whether more will be coming, but judging by the taco chain's popularity, it wouldn't be a surprise if more popped up soon.

There are around 200 Wow Bao locations across the country, and there are about to be some at Walmart, too. Some will have seating while others will be carryout only.

"We are thrilled to accelerate our expansion across the U.S. and Canada with this important partnership and the innovators at Ghost Kitchen Brands," said Geoff Alexander, the president & CEO of Wow Bao, according to QSR Magazine. "As we grow our footprint and our brand, it is important for Wow Bao to form the right alliances."

In addition to the new U.S. locations, 40 Nathan's Famous restaurants will open in 40 Walmarts in Canada. Costco has also upped its game for customers in the Great White North— there's a new chicken sandwich at the food court in Vancouver!
