Starbucks is now offering a limited-time Birthday Cake Frappuccino that allows you to sip your favorite sweet indulgence through a straw. The sugar-filled, festive beverage is available from March 26 through March 30 to commemorate the 20th anniversary of the Frappuccino.
While it likely helps that the drink doesn’t serve up any actual chunks of birthday cake, it still won’t do your waistline any favors. The coffee giant isn’t supplying any official nutritional numbers for their b-day themed concoction, but we do know that it’s made with a blend of vanilla bean powder, whole milk, hazelnut and cream syrups, before getting a pink, raspberry-infused whipped cream topping. A grande Vanilla Bean Crème Frappuccino with whole milk and whip has 430 calories, 14 grams of fat and 69 grams of sugar (the equivalent of nearly 58 jelly beans), so we’re guessing this drink comes in around the same count.
If you’re serious about trimming down, we suggest skipping the Birthday Frapp altogether. But if you really can’t resist, we suggest ordering a tall made with skim milk and asking them to go light on the whipped cream. Better yet, split this lighted up order with a friend. Doing so will save you 310 calories, 12 grams of fat and 45.5 grams of sugar! See, with some smart planning you really can have your cake and eat it, too.
