7 Things You Should Never Do at McDonald's
With the coronavirus pandemic ravaging the country, everything about our way of life has changed. Office workers are working from home; dining indoors is largely a thing of the past; businesses are closing left and right. And if you're fortunate enough to be in good health and able to head to a restaurant, things are changing there, too.
Keeping the pandemic in mind, as well as the items at the Golden Arches you should steer clear of, here are the things you should never do at McDonald's.

Order without a face mask on
Regardless of whether your state has a mandatory mask law, it's courteous to the employees and to your fellow customers to cover your mouth and nose when you're ordering at any restaurant, fast food or not. Until the pandemic is under control, you can help stop the spread by wearing a mask anytime you're in close contact with other people.
And yes, this includes the drive-thru! You'll want to wear a mask when you reach the window to get your food.
Order a McFlurry
We hate to break the news, but the McDonald's McFlurry is one of the worst things you can order. It's loaded with sugar and saturated fat, and it even contains trans fat! No, thank you.
Skip the app download
If you have a smartphone, it's worth downloading the McDonald's app. You'll find daily deals in there for things like free fries or BOGO sandwiches. And soon, the chain will launch a rewards program, too—you don't want to miss out!
Order a Double Quarter Pounder
The Quarter Pounder isn't a healthy choice in the first place, and you're doing your body a disservice if you order the Double Quarter Pounder. This sandwich contains a whopping 40 grams of fat and two grams of trans fat. Yikes!
Ask for unsalted fries
If you've heard this "hack," think again! Yes, asking for unsalted fries will get you a fresh batch of spuds. But when you do this, the workers have to clean the fry basket, slowing down the production line for everyone else, too. Instead, just ask for fresh fries—you'll get a piping hot, delicious batch without putting the employees through extra work.
Order a 6-pack of nuggets
We're not saying this just because more nuggets means more fat and salt! A four-piece McNuggets order is cheaper per nugget than a six-piece or a 10-piece order. Weird, but true! You'll save money with the smaller option.
Order an ice cream sundae
In August, a TikTok video went viral for showing what appears to be mold in one of the sauce trays for McDonald's toppings. A side of mold with your hot fudge or caramel? No, thanks!
