The 3 Most Popular Grocery Stores for Your Pharmacy Needs
You can get a lot of different products at grocery stores these days. But besides food, many people use them for prescriptions. One study just found which chains rank the highest in satisfaction and the results may surprise you!
According to 13,378 customers who answered the J.D. Power 2020 U.S. Pharmacy Study poll, among brick and mortar supermarkets, Wegmans came in first place. Publix followed, and Winn-Dixie came in third, according to Supermarket News. The poll asked people who have filled a prescription in the last three months to mark their satisfaction in areas like ordering, cost, pickup, the store, delivery, the pharmacists, and other employees.
The scale used was out of 1,000, and Wegmans scored a 904. Publix wasn't too far behind with an 889, and Winn-Dixie was only a few away from that at 883. H-E-B and ShopRite rounded out the top five.
Overall, supermarkets scored an average of 866, which was actually three points behind mail-order pharmacies. Chain pharmacies only scored an average of 850 on the satisfaction scale.
"We're honored to receive the highest satisfaction rating among supermarket pharmacies for the third year in a row," says John Carlo, the senior vice president of pharmacy at Wegmans, according to a press release. "This recognition is a direct result of the care and dedication that our pharmacy employees provide to their customers every day."
Wegmans is proving itself to be a one-stop-shop. In addition to acing pharmacy satisfaction, they also have a coffee bar and fresh food like burgers and pastries. The chain currently has locations in Maryland, Massachusetts, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, and Virginia. But they have a loyal customer base — there was even a high school musical about the grocery store (here are a few other Things You Didn't Know About Wegmans).
