If you're interested in ways to keep your face looking fresh and younger than it does now, then you might want to add this jowl-targeting workout to your routine. Jowls are the skin beneath your jawline that can become rather saggy, but don't stress, because you can tone up certain muscles to help make the entire area look tighter. With that in mind, we chatted with Caroline Grainger, ISSA Certified Personal Trainer at FitnessTrainer Online Personal Trainers, and Daniel Maman, Personal Trainer at My Phenom Fitness, who share these highly-recommended exercises for sagging jowls. Neck Rolls are the first of these effective exercises for sagging jowls

According to Grainger, Neck Rolls do a pretty stellar job at making sure your neck stays relaxed, aligned, and toned. Perform them anytime, anywhere!

To properly and effectively do this exercise, you can either sit or stand up. Either way, you'll want to check your posture to ensure you're totally relaxed before you begin. Once you're ready, Grainger instructs, "Take a deep breath, and slowly let your head fall forward. Slowly roll it to your left, and let it fall towards your left shoulder. Do your best to keep your shoulders relaxed during this. Hunching them to get your head closer to your shoulders will defeat the purpose. Roll your head back, relaxing your jaw, then slowly roll your head to the right, again dropping it towards the shoulder, before returning to the front."

In this case, there's no need for speed. Grainger says to focus on taking deep breaths and really feel this exercise doing its work.

Next up is the Tongue Exercise

When you were a child, you might have been taught that it's rude to stick out your tongue. Fortunately, you won't have to worry about offending anyone while doing this exercise, as the goal is to aim upward while you're improving the state of your jowls. Maman tells Eat This, Not That!, "Sticking your tongue out while staring at the ceiling tones the cheekbones by targeting the facial muscles and, in turn, remedies sagging jowls."

Maintain good posture while performing the Tongue Exercise, and raise your chin while you look up. Next, stick your tongue out and stretch it down toward the bottom of your chin. Once you're in that position, hold it for around 20 to 30 seconds before relaxing. Complete 5 reps while adding this move to your jowl-firming workout twice a day, every other day, in order to see the kind of results you're looking for.

Don't skip out on cardio

Grainger is a fan of cardio, telling us, "Cardiovascular exercise is especially good at burning calories, and reducing fat is key to getting rid of those jowls." She adds, "Any exercise routine that's trying to sculpt your figure needs to include a healthy dose of cardiovascular exercise," and that includes sculpting your jowls.

While Grainger suggests adding a healthy dose of "running, cycling, rowing, or brisk walking" to your routine, you could also opt for your favorite sport as well as swimming in the summer or skiing and snowboarding in the winter. If you want to try something a little different, then you might be interested in hula hooping or doing fat-burning jump rope exercises.
