Let’s agree on this: Whole Foods has delicious, high-quality, locally-sourced foods that make even the most culinary-challenged home cooks’ dinners taste like they were created by a seasoned chef. There’s just one little issue: the organic grocer is notorious for high-priced items you can now get from conventional supermarkets for more affordable prices.
Turns out, that’s all about to change. Back in June, Amazon announced it would be purchasing Whole Foods for a staggering $13.7 billion. And while we projected these 5 Reasons Why Amazon Buying Whole Foods Changes Everything, we were not prepared for the online retailer’s most recent announcement.
As described in a press release, Amazon announced some major prices changes. “To get started, we’re going to lower prices beginning Monday [August 28] on a selection of best-selling grocery staples,” said Jeff Wilke, CEO of Amazon Worldwide Consumer. “And this is just the beginning – we will make Amazon Prime the customer rewards program at Whole Foods Market and continuously lower prices as we invent together.”
In honor of future savings, we’ve compiled a list of all the items going on sale in Whole Foods so you can add them to your grocery list. Keep reading to see what other changes are in store for our beloved grocer! For more shopping-list inspiration, check out these 30 Best Anti-Inflammatory Foods.
