Here’s a food combo we never thought we’d see, even in our nightmares: Canadian fast-food joint The Works, which is known for their cheese-filled burgers, is now offering one stuffed with Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups. The Reese’s Get Stuf’d Burger is an 8 oz beef patty filled with cheese and Reese’s PBCs, then topped with onion rings, two strips of bacon … and even more Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups.
Because the chain hasn’t published nutritional info for the burger — no shock, eh? — we used what they have published for other burgers and sides, then applied our own research, to estimate the dietary damage. And here’s what we found: This Titanic-sized burg tips the scales at about 1,720 calories, with 105 g of fat (33 g saturated), 1.2 g of trans fat, an eye-popping 4,240 mg of sodium and 202 mg of cholesterol.
That’s as many calories as three-and-a-half Big Macs! As much fat as 32 strips of bacon! Plus, two full days’ worth of sodium and as much cholesterol as three Burger King Whoppers With Cheese! If you add an order of the chain’s fries, you’re looking at 2,230 calories (a full day’s worth), 119 g of fat and 4,726 mg of sodium. But at that point, who’s counting?
You’d need to play a whole lot of hockey to burn off those calories — five games back-to-back — or run three-quarters of the New York Marathon. There are better cheat meals out there. Like just about anything.
