But there are a few do's and don't's for shopping for groceries on the web versus in-store. Websites and apps can be different, and busy shopping times can mean waiting longer for your items. Plus, sometimes you might have to order your produce by weight, something you may not do normally. But one new survey of 1,000 grocery customers found out the worst thing about grocery shopping online.
We already know that buying items aligned with a certain diet is important for people. Of those who answered the survey, 53% say that the worst thing about grocery shopping online is it is challenging or extremely challenging to ensure that a product is right for the program they are following.
The Transparency Trends: Omnichannel Grocery Shopping from the Consumer Perspective study released by Label Insight and FMI – The Food Industry Association also reveals that only 18% of shoppers say they don't have issues when purchasing these things. A majority of online shoppers (58% exactly) are buying specific health programs like Keto, Paleo, Gluten-Free, etc. So there's a big chance people aren't ordering what they want because they can't tell if it meets their goals.
The survey says this information means companies should create better labeling and product information. Doing so would allow those viewing their items online to clearly see what they are getting. It would also mean better and more defined search results.
