Karly is a Senior Human Performance Specialist at the Memorial Hermann Rockets Sports Medicine Institute in Houston, TX. She brings a unique blend of applied biomechanics, exercise physiology, and clinical sports performance expertise grounded in her doctoral training in running biomechanics. Her work centers on force-plate assessment, biomechanical movement analysis, and exercise physiology testing that directly support injury prevention, return-to-play decisions, and performance improvement.
Karly’s experience spans sports biomechanics, exercise physiology, and athlete performance testing across both clinical and high-performance environments. She plays an integral role in delivering biomechanical assessments, such as running gait analysis, AMTI and Noraxon force-plate testing, and wearable-based motion analysis (DorsaVI), and conducts metabolic evaluations including resting metabolic rate testing, body composition analysis, lactate profiling, and VO₂ max assessments. She has helped implement and expand human performance technologies across multiple Rockets Sports Medicine Institute locations and has trained clinicians and staff on accurate data collection and interpretation related to force-plate testing. In addition to her clinical work, Karly contributes to research initiatives across Memorial Hermann’s sports medicine team and run-medicine pillar, and represents the Human Performance team within the Education Committee. Across all settings, she emphasizes data-informed decision making, clear communication, and translating scientific insights into practical systems that enhance movement quality, resilience, and long-term athletic development.
