Drake Is Giving Away Free Chicken Sliders In Honor Of His Birthday

Here's how to get a free lunch on Champagne Papi.

There's nothing we love quite so much as a newly minted food holiday, from National Donut Day to National Hummus Day (yes, it's real). There are more than you'd think and while they may not come with a day off work, they do tend to come with free treats from local eateries.

This year, rapper Drake has decided that October 24, which is his birthday, should be a national food holiday too, and that means free hot chicken sliders for all who want them. It's his birthday and he can give out free chicken if he wants to! To do so, he's teaming up with none other than the popular Nashville-style hot chicken chain Dave's Hot Chicken.

This is the second year in a row that Drake, who is also an investor in the chain, is celebrating with worldwide hot chicken freebies. So if you participated last year, you know the drill. But if you're new to the game, check out the details on how to snag your free slider below.

"We're collaborating with @champagnepapi to celebrate his birthday… AGAIN," Dave's wrote on Instagram. "AND giving EVERYBODY a SLIDER on US‼ US: Download the Dave's app swing by any #daveshotchicken location on Tuesday, 10/24 and scan app at the register to check-in and get your slider."

It's as simple as that: if you're in the United States, you'll need to download the Dave's app and scan it at the register to get your free slider. If you're in Canada, you can get a free slider too, no app required—just show that you're following Dave's Hot Chicken on Instagram or TikTok. Fans are limited to one slider per person, and the promo is going on from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. local time at locations all across America, Canada, and even the Middle East (see the full list of participating locations here.)

The chain was founded by childhood friends Chef Dave Kopushyan, Arman Oganesyan, and Tommy Rubenyan back in 2017 with nothing but some portable fryers and a folding table in a parking lot in Los Angeles. But Drake, who's turning 37, isn't the only celeb fan of Dave's Hot Chicken. Maria Shriver, Samuel L. Jackson, and Michael Strahan have all invested in the brand and the rapidly expanding chain has quickly become beloved for its hot chicken tenders and sliders, fries, coleslaw, macaroni and cheese, and milkshakes.

Oh, and don't be fooled by the name. While a typical "slider" is a bite-size amuse-bouche version of a regular burger, Dave's Hot Chicken sliders are full-size sammies featuring a spiced-to-order chicken tender (levels range from No Spice to Reaper, the latter of which requires a signed waiver before you dig in), kale slaw, pickles, and sauce on a pillowy potato bun. Just typing that out has us craving some juicy, crispy chicken—so we'll see you in line at the nearest Dave's tomorrow at 11 a.m. sharp. Happy birthday, Drake! And thanks for the free lunch.
