One Reddit user shared his finding with the website: "After a lifetime of fighting with aluminum foil and plastic wrap [rolls], there are 2 tabs on the ends of the box that when pushed in hold the tube in place for easier removal." The enlightening comment received over 14 thousand up-votes and dozens of replies.

"WHAT??? Runs to the kitchen and back… I'll be… son of a… You're a freaking genius!" replied one user.

Another commented, "I literally went to check my aluminum foil just now and how did I never know about these."

If you didn't already know this, don't hit yourself. These secret features are extremely nondescript and would be hard to find if you're not looking for them. In fact, you can barely see them on most boxes because the brand's logo tends to cover them up.

Without pushing those tabs in, your aluminum foil roll is more likely to pop out of the box as you use it.

All you have to do is find the tabs on the side of the box…
