To help celebrate the 50th anniversary of the opening of Walt Disney World, McDonald's will soon be offering Disney toys in Happy Meals.

Walt Disney World opened to the public in October of 1971 and would soon become one of the world's largest and most successful tourist attractions. In fact, in the year 2018, Disney World was the most heavily visited vacation resort on earth, according to data from the Themed Entertainment Association.

So, it only makes sense that as part of the commemoration of the theme park's 50th anniversary, The Walt Disney Company has partnered with the biggest fast-food chain on earth. Thus, McDonald's will be offering Disney toys in its Happy Meals starting on Sept. 14, and as its toy option through late October 2021.

According to Chip and Company, the news of the new Happy Meal toys leaked out ahead of when the companies intended to reveal their partnership. But, based on some of the images that have been leaked (see above), the toys look to be miniature versions of the "Disney Fab 50" golden statues that are being installed around Disney theme parks, according to WDW News Today.

The toys will include classic characters from decades past as well as more recent fan favorites, such as Mickey and Minnie, Thumper, Dumbo, Cogsworth, Woody, Olaf, and Simba.

These Happy Meal toys are far from the first time The Walt Disney Company and McDonald's have partnered up. In years past (and even in generations past), McDonald's has offered Happy Meal toys tied to specific Disney properties (such as the movie 101 Dalmatians) as well as more generalized toys, such as the Mickey's Birthdayland car set from the late 1980s.

Many vintage Disney Happy Meal toys are today worth a decent amount of money on auction sites such as eBay.
