Papa John's Launches New Jalapeño Popper Rolls With Ranch Dipping Sauce

Dare we say this side dish is fire?

There's no shortage of side dishes at Papa John's, with options like garlic knots, chicken poppers, and cheesesticks stacking the menu. Now, those who have a craving for something a little hotter will have something to indulge in, as well. More specifically, a bite-size appetizer that boasts an extra kick: Jalapeño Popper Rolls. They may just end up being the new garlic bread to your pepperoni pizza order.

The popular pizza chain announced today it will be rolling out the all-new side dish nationwide. The Jalapeño Popper Rolls are made with Papa John's six-ingredient dough and rolled with thin slices of spicy jalapeño pepper and cooling Philadelphia cream cheese. There has to be something to help put out the fire, right?

"With our Jalapeño Popper Rolls, we are delivering our unique take on one of America's classic appetizers," says Paul Fabre of Papa John's in a statement. "Our guests can add this new tasty side to bring a little spice to pizza night!"

These little spicy rolls are baked so they're not as greasy as a typical jalapeño popper. An order consists of eight rolls and comes with ranch dipping sauce, which makes for the perfect snack to munch on during a basketball game or even a movie marathon.

That's not all the pizza chain has debuted this month. Papa John's also recently introduced the Papadia, which is best described as a hybrid of a flatbread pizza and a sandwich. You can choose from one of four flavors—Italian, Philly Cheesesteak, Grilled BBQ Chicken & Bacon, and Meatball Pepperoni—and order a side of the spicy, cheesy poppers to go with it.

Poppers appear to be all the rage right now. You also may recall that Pizza Hut just released an all-new pie, the Mozzarella Poppers Pizza, two weeks ago. The new menu item is a standard pizza pie, but with fried mozzarella bites embedded into the crust.

So, are you going to partake in the trend and try the Jalapeño Popper Rolls?
