Dunkin' Is Selling This Type of Donut for the First Time in History

Your taste buds will be shocked!

It's Halloween season and candy makers are going above and beyond to satisfy your sweet tooth. But this year one iconic donut chain is taking over — and offering up a sweet treat with a hidden twist. Dunkin's Spicy Ghost Pepper Donut is in stores now until December!

The pastry features a classic donut covered in strawberry icing. Sweet, right? Well, the icing has cayenne and ghost pepper mixed in. The whole thing is topped with red sugar for a treat that looks fruity and sweet, but that actually packs a haunting punch. The Spicy Ghost Pepper Donut is the first of its kind in Dunkin's history, according to CNN. (Although it is moving forward with new donuts, Dunkin' is one of 9 Restaurant Chains That Closed Hundreds of Locations This Summer.)

"Halloween looks a little different this year, and so do our donuts. While our classic bakery offering has plenty of crave-worthy treats, we're excited to show our spicy side with a donut that packs a touch of heat with something sweet and can be enjoyed any time of day," says vice president of marketing strategy Jill Nelson.

The new spicy donut has 260 calories, 11 grams of fat, 300 milligrams of sodium, 36 grams of carbohydrates, and 16 grams of sugar. It's actually the donut with the fewest calories, fat, carbs, and sugar in the Dunkin' Halloween donut lineup.

The coffee chain is also offering Halloween DIY Dunkin' Donut Decorating Kits as well as the beloved Spider Donut. The take-home kits come in a small with four donuts or a large with nine donuts. It also has everything you need to create a perfectly spooky donut yourself. Orange, white, and black icing is in the kit, as well as three different kinds of sprinkles.

The Spider Donut has orange icing and a chocolate Munchkins donut hole, plus chocolate drizzle legs and white icing eyes. With the extra Munkins on top, the donut clocks in at 330 calories, 15 grams of fat, 360 milligrams of sodium, 44 grams of carbohydrates, and 19 grams of sugar.
