This Couple Had Their Baby Announcement at In-N-Out

And you thought it was just a burger joint...

Izzy and Zac Lusk of Phoenix, Arizona, announced last week that they are having a baby in a rather unique way—by capturing the announcement at In-N-Out Burger, their favorite fast-food restaurant.

On Friday, December 6th, the couple announced that they were pregnant to their friends and family via Facebook and Instagram posts. The posts featured a picture of them sharing a kiss over burgers and fries, all while holding up a onesie. And yes, the onesie mimics the design of an In-N-Out drink cup:

In-N-Out is a special place for the Lusks. After they got married, the couple went straight to an In-N-Out,  with Izzy still in her wedding dress and Zac still in his tuxedo.

Zac has worked at In-N-Out since college, which is when the two started dating, even though they had known each other for many years prior. (They actually grew up in the same town.) Their paths first crossed in middle school; Izzy was born and raised in Phoenix, while Zac moved to Arizona from the Midwest when he was 13. When I asked Izzy about when they first met, she said it wasn't exactly love at first sight. In fact, it was quite the opposite.

"We started dating in college, but throughout our teen years, we weren't friends at all. I wasn't a fan of his," she says, chuckling.

The two became friends while getting their undergraduate degrees at the University of Arizona in Tucson. They connected over similar religious views, and, a year-and-a-half later, he finally asked her out on a date. The couple got married in July 2017 and started graduate school together the following month.

Now, they're expecting their first baby—in June 2020, about a year before they will finish graduate school. Izzy, currently a photographer, is studying to be a family counselor, while Zac is getting his Masters of Divinity in hopes of becoming a pastor. While both of their careers and responsibilities will change drastically in the near future, In-N-Out has undoubtedly had a special place in their hearts.
