This Beloved Childhood Brownie Treat Is Being Made Into a Cereal
Cosmic Brownies Cereal will be made of crispy brownie puffs topped with rainbow chips, because you can't have cosmic brownies without the rainbow decorations! Like most chocolaty cereal, this will likely turn the cereal milk into chocolate milk, making your breakfast all the more decadent. (But, be forewarned not to overindulge—there are some pretty toxic cereals on grocery store shelves.)
The nostalgic cereal is slated to land on grocery store shelves starting in May, but there's no word yet if these are a permanent addition to Kellogg's lineup or if they're a limited run. You can expect to pay $3.99 for an 8.2-ounce box and $5.69 for a 13.2-ounce box, though prices can vary based on store and location.
This is just another fun cereal coming to stores to jazz up breakfast time. Another favorite Little Debbie snack got the cereal treatment recently — Oatmeal Creme Pies! Though both of these cereals are heavy on sweetness, they are a fun treat for once in a while. The Cosmic Brownies Cereal has about 160 calories in a 1-cup serving and 15 grams of sugar, placing it firmly on the list of breakfast treats for a special occasion. On the regular, you're better off sticking with a healthier option to keep your healthy eating in balance.
The nostalgia factor of this cereal is particularly fun and can fill that void in your life that some of your other favorite discontinued throwback cereals have left. This feels like a good mixture of Sprinkle Spangles and Crazy Cow! Talk about some serious flair at breakfast time.
Kellogg's is the cereal brand that just keeps on giving. Not only is the major brand bringing new flavors to shelves, but it's also bringing back old favorites, like SMorz cereal from years gone by. We're definitely not mad about having so many cereals to choose from each morning. It's fun to switch up the routine every once in a while!
