Costco Now Has the COVID-19 Vaccine in These 12 States

Five new states were just added to the list. Is yours on it?

We either go big or go home when we shop for grocery at Costco, and the warehouse is certainly taking the same approach as it helps to distribute the COVID-19 vaccine from coast to coast.

Costco is one of 11 grocery store chains that signed on to help the federal government roll out vaccines back in November. The warehouse is now offering vaccines (typically Moderna) in five more states, extending its reach to a dozen.

Below is the list, and if your state is mentioned, Costco wants you to know that its pharmacy employees are not able to schedule appointments over the phone. They are working in accordance with all federal and state guidelines, so check out the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention website and your local Department of Health to find out if you're eligible to get the vaccine.

Six areas outside Minneapolis and St. Paul with a Costco warehouse are now accepting COVID-19 vaccine appointments: Burnsville, Coon Rapids, Eden Prairie, Maple Grove, St Louis Park, and Woodbury. Almost 26% of residents in the Land of 10,000 Lakes have received at least one dose of the vaccine, but the number of active cases and hospitalizations are rising, according to Minnesota Public Radio News. Ridgeland (just north of Jackson) is the only area in Mississippi where Costco is currently offering the COVID-19 vaccine, and it was added to the warehouse chain's list a few weeks ago.

The warehouse pharmacy is currently offering the Janssen (J&J) shot to residents and out-of-state residents who work in Mississippi who are 18 and over, but appointments are required.

New York

Costco originally only offered vaccine appointments to shoppers in New York City, but it has since expanded into Staten Island. However, the state is still only offering the vaccine to individuals in Phases 1A and 1B, including those 65 and older, health care personnel, and essential workers.

It is currently still offering appointments for eligible individuals (which differs county by county) in Albany, Aloha, Bend, Central Point, Clackamas, Eugene, Hillsboro, Portland, Roseburg, Salem, Tigard, Warrenton, and Wilsonville. There are no specific locations mentioned, but if a warehouse in South Carolina has appointments available, Costco says it will show up on the state's online vaccine locator tool. State officials expect those in Phase 1C (including anyone age 45 and older) to be eligible starting on April 12.
