She's consistent

You may have spotted Lively totally rocking New York Fashion Week in a powder blue, skirt suit, complete with a coordinating crop top and white pumps. You likely swooned over the celeb's purple jumpsuit she wore to The Music Man opening on Broadway, too. These statement outfits are one of the many reasons why Lively has a loyal fanbase of 31.5 million followers on Instagram. The ability to wear these outfits and look like Blake Lively does makes one curious as to the celeb's health and fitness routine.

"I think the thing with Blake now is that she's understanding the importance of trying to be consistent." explains Lively's trainer, Don Saladino, to E! News in a recent interview. "She's no different than any other person you know, she's a mother right? She's a human being. Just because she's a celebrity doesn't mean that her tissue or muscle or bones are any different. She's a human being."

Saladino adds, "It's not always easy, right? As she'll admit, like, some days her kids might be up all night or something's going on just like a normal mom has to deal with, but I really believe that Blake success recently is an effort to make time and do the best that she can. Sometimes things could get in her way or sometimes things will pop up and she accepts it and she moves on. That's really it."

One of the key points Saladino continues to stress is consistency. "She's really trying to show that level of consistency and I think that's what it comes down to," he explains. "That's a good line that Blake and I have. If we're gonna come into a session, it's not about going into every session with a Rocky-type mentality."

She has a positive attitude and doesn't compare every workout to her absolute best

Saladino notes Lively doesn't always have to work out hard, but she realizes the need to work out. "Just to get in and move everyday successfully, because rather than comparing it to your best workout, she's now leaving and saying, 'Great, I moved!' That's the big lesson here. Don't feel like you have to get up off the couch and set this world record workout. Because if that's the goal, no one's ever going to be successful. We're looking for this level of consistency."

She's worked hard and intensely to prepare for roles

When Lively has prepared for roles, she's worked intensely. For example, Saladino told PEOPLE in an interview that the actress worked out five to six days each week when starring in The Shallows. "We would do an upper body workout Monday, lower body Tuesday. Wednesday was a playful pool workout where she would do laps." He broke out the routine, explaining, "Thursday was upper body, Friday lower body, and Saturday we were focusing on the accessory movers: the arms, the shoulders." Lively also worked with a nutritionist, who recommended the star eat a vegetable, a protein, and a carb in the slow-burning category with all her meals.

Her full-body workout involves lots of stretching and strength training

Saladino revealed Lively's full-body workout via Women's Health, which can be done three to four times a week, for 1 hour. The workout is broken into a warm-up (with moves like child's pose and 90:90 hip stretch) and three workout circuits. Some of the circuit exercises include push-ups, farmer's carry, dumbbell deadlift, goblet squats, and bent over dumbbell row.

Lively is relatable, in that she's completely down to earth and loves comfort food like the rest of us. (Hey, work hard, play hard, right?) By comfort food we mean the best of the best—mac & cheese! On her Instagram Story this past December, Lively wrote, "This is not an ad. I'm mac & cheese passionate. This is so damn good." The actress nixes the actual recipe printed on the box. "Instead: add a heavy splash of whole milk," then, "Mix in the cheese powder. 1/3 block of cream cheese. And two big handfuls of fresh grated sharp cheddar and/or a hard goat cheese of Gouda. I like to mix all 3. Enjoyyyyyy." (Is your mouth watering yet?)

Furthermore, Lively is also known to enjoy her favorite slice of pizza in New York, Patsy's in East Harlem. It's so refreshing to know that this star looks extraordinary and still likes to enjoy classic comfort food favorites.
