This 10-Second Fitness Test Reveals How Long You'll Live

No time to eat right or exercise? It could be taking a major toll on your health—but you already knew that.

If you've ever wondered just how detrimental your not-so-healthy lifestyle really is, there's now a simple test you can do to find out. Here's how it's done: Simply cross one foot over the other, sit down on the ground and stand back up. The only catch? You can't use your hands to help you. Oddly enough, this simple measure of flexibility, strength and non-aerobic physicality, dubbed the Sitting Rising Test, can predict your risk of dying in the next five years. We know it seems a bit hard to believe, but these findings have been published in both American and European medical journals, and are backed by 15-years of similar findings.

Sure, a cardiac stress test can reveal similar information, but you'll have to see your M.D for that. The true beauty of this test is that anyone can do it just about anywhere. Interested in giving it a go? To learn more about the test and how to tally your score, check out the video below.
