The #1 Eating Habit Jennifer Lopez Swears by To Look Amazing at 52

The 52-year old star looked amazing on her Vegas wedding day.

Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck nearly broke the internet this past weekend when they announced their whirlwind Vegas elopement on July 16th, 2022. While people are going wild over marriage details, like the couple snagging a picture in Elvis' famous pink convertible and J. Lo officially changing her name to Jennifer Lynn Affleck, fans have also taken notice of how lovely Jennifer looked in the white dress she's been saving since she wore it one of her past films.

With the star turning 53 years old this upcoming Sunday, July 24th, many people are wondering how she's managed to look more and more amazing with every passing year. And while fame and plenty of money obviously help, J. Lo (or maybe J. Aff now?) still sticks to a consistent healthy diet and exercise routine.

In fact, to this day Jennifer's secret to looking fit in her fifties is to eat very little processed foods. Read on, and for more celebrity health tips, check out The #1 Eating Habit Sigourney Weaver Swears By.

In 2019, Dodd Romero, who is Jennifer's life coach and personal trainer, shared some of J. Lo's dietary choices with Us Weekly. According to the source, her diet regularly "consists of five basic categories: protein, vegetables, fats, carbohydrates, and water." Romero emphasizes how important drinking water is to Jennifer, and the celeb stays hydrated constantly and has a bare minimum of seven glasses of water a day.

According to Romero, J. Lo prefers staying clear of processed foods and refined carbs and "gets her nutrients from whole sources," he tells Us.

He also tells Us Weekly that Lopez gets her protein from lean sources like egg whites, chicken, turkey, and grass-fed beef, but that she only consumes these three to four times a week. She's getting her protein and healthy fats the rest of the week from nuts and fish. Lopez also enjoys mostly whole grains instead of refined carbs and eats plenty of fruits and vegetables.

It isn't surprising that eating a cleaner diet like this would help this celeb stay healthy, especially because diets heavier in processed foods have been linked to many health consequences like heart disease, premature death, and type 2 diabetes.

Unfortunately, celebrities like J. Lo have easier access to healthy foods than most people, and oftentimes processed foods are what is most accessible. At the end of the day, you don't have to eat an entirely clean diet to be healthy. Starting small and replacing some processed snacks with more whole foods can help in significant ways!
