Today marks Burger King's 68th birthday, and to celebrate this milestone, the fast-food chain is treating customers to several perks.

For one day only, the home of the Whopper is giving away free Whopper Jr. sandwiches to Royal Perks members who make any purchase of $1 or more. All you need to do to claim a free Whopper Jr. is place an order through Burger King's mobile app, website, or at any participating location.

The Whopper Jr. consists of a flame-grilled beef patty topped with a tomato slice, lettuce, mayonnaise, ketchup, pickles, and sliced white onions on a sesame seed bun.

To keep the festivities going, Burger King is also reimagining its most iconic symbol—the crown—by releasing a limited-edition birthday crown created in collaboration with Miami-based artist Romero Britto.

"Some of my first memories of moving to the United States include going to Burger King and getting a Whopper and a crown. It was the only restaurant I frequented—in fact, my first date with my wife was at a Burger King—so this collaboration felt like a natural fit," Britto said in a press release. "Having the opportunity to redesign the iconic BK crown is such an honor, and having been a fan of the brand for so long this partnership brings it all full circle."

The new birthday crowns, which feature a pop-art-style depiction of a burger and fries, are now available at participating locations nationwide. And they can also grant customers the opportunity to unlock a free year's supply of Burger King food.

To enter for a chance to win, Burger King fanatics can take a selfie with the crown and share it on Instagram by tagging @burgerking, and using the hashtag #BKCrownSweepstakes. The colorful crowns are up for grabs while supplies last.

These limited-time deals come shortly after Burger King released several new menu offerings. This includes the launch of the chain's Cheesy Breakfast Melts, the test of the Royal Crispy Chicken Sandwiches, the expansion of the 2 for $5 Mix 'n Match deal, and the rollout of free fries for the rest of the year for Royal Perks members.
