Chick-fil-A Just Revealed They Still Serve This Beloved Discontinued Item

The popular breakfast option left the menu in 2016... or did it?

When a beloved fast-food menu item is discontinued, where does it go? Some, like the widely-mourned Mexican Pizza at Taco Bell, go on to live in the hearts of fans, commemorated on Reddit threads and Change.org petitions pleading for their return. Others even make a comeback, like in the case of potatoes at Taco Bell or Hi-C at McDonald's. But some nixed items, as it turns out, never really leave. Sure, they may be "officially" removed from the menus, but they remain a secret menu option or a special treat served at rogue restaurant locations. And according to recent reports from Chick-fil-A, such is the curious case of their Spicy Chicken Biscuit.

The chicken chain with a massive fanbase sure has a lot of good breakfast options. There are breakfast sandwiches served on biscuits or English muffins (bagels, too, but they're leaving the menu soon), wraps, and even tiny, crispy, hash brown bites. But one particular morning go-to—the spicy version of the classic Chicken Biscuit—was so loved that it caused a lot of heartbreak when it was taken off the menu in 2016. Fans took to social media to express their disapproval of the chain's move back then, and even now, with the latest Tweets pleading Chick-fil-A to bring back the biscuit posted as recently as last month.

Then, last month, in a move that literally no one saw coming, Chick-fil-A chimed in on the matter on their website and revealed that not only is the Spicy Chicken Biscuit available at select locations—it was never gone in the first place.

"What many might not know is that as of 2021, the Spicy Chicken Biscuit is still served at Chick-fil-A restaurants in and around 95 cities across the country. So let's extinguish this fire once and for all," the company said, going on to list the cities where you can still get the breakfast item.

That's right, the lucky residents of several metropolitan areas in Alabama, Arkansas, California, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, Missouri, Nebraska, New Mexico, Ohio, Oklahoma, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Virginia, Washington, West Virginia, and Wisconsin, are still enjoying the Spicy Chicken Biscuit like 2016 never happened.

While one Redditor immediately said, "I do really miss the spicy chicken biscuit. It was great. But I ain't traveling for that thing lol," others disagree. Would you?
