Be on the lookout for big, white set of lockers in your neighborhood store.

This year may still be in food swing, but Costco is already looking ahead to 2022. In a recent earnings call with investors, Costco Chief Financial Officer Richard Galanti outlined several goals for the new year, including opening more than 20 new locations and upgrading the chain's mobile app.

If you're excited about this news, you should also be aware of a new perk that's on its way to 200+ Costco stores across America. Here's everything you need to know to shop smarter at the warehouse.

More pickup lockers are coming to Costco warehouses.

If you shop at a Costco location with white pickup lockers for online orders, you have access to a perk that isn't available at every single warehouse. The lockers are currently available at 112 locations, but the goal is to bring them to more than 220 stores by next year.

"We're rolling out e-commerce lockers," Galanti said. "Currently in the U.S., we have 112 locations with more — and we plan to more than double that number during calendar year 2022."

New e-commerce kiosks are rolling out, too.

In addition to the lockers, Galanti said new e-commerce kiosks would help get purchases in the hands of members. While he didn't dive into too many specifics, we do know that the kiosks will have two special features. (Eat This, Not That! reached out to the retailer for more information, but the company declined to comment.)

The kiosks will feature touch screens.

Costco's pickup lockers have touch screens for selecting digital orders. Similarly, Galanti said the new kiosks would be equipped with "easy touch screen ordering." They'll likely allow members to order items for pickup inside warehouses.

They will also have video signage.

Galanti said the kiosks would also feature "video signage." He didn't reveal what would be displayed on the signage, but there are plenty of goods and services that Costco offers in addition to its beloved baked goods and bulk grocery items. It probably isn't too much of a stretch to guess that these signs may advertise Costco's insurance policies, travel packages, tire centers, and more.
