Why You Should Stop Eating Spinach NOW

We hate having to say anything bad about spinach but, unfortunately, the smack talking is completely warranted—and necessary.

Due to a potential Listeria contamination, Wegmans, Amy's Kitchen and La Terra Fina have recalled over 21 products that contain the leafy green in the past four days. Targeted products include spinach dips, frozen spinach and frozen meals that include the veggie.

Although none of the companies are aware of any illness related to the recalled products yet, they are taking the necessary precautionary measures based on contamination notices they received from their various vegetable suppliers.

According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), Listeria is a serious infection to which pregnant women, newborns, and adults with weakened immune systems are the most susceptible. It's possible, however, for anyone to become infected. Common symptoms include fever, muscle aches, diarrhea and other gastrointestinal symptoms. It is important to seek medical attention if you think you might be infected.
