Subway's Ultimate Cheesy Garlic Bread Is Back for a Limited Time
Garlic lovers, rejoice! Subway has brought back its popular Ultimate Cheesy Garlic Bread.
The famous specialty bread was first released for a limited time last December, but it only stuck around through February of this year. Ultimately, the menu item was such a hit, the sub shop decided to bring it back for an encore this holiday season.
Sadly, Ultimate Cheesy Garlic Bread season comes but once a year, and it will only be available until December 31st at participating Subway locations across the United States.
"When we launched the Ultimate Cheesy Garlic Bread last year, our guests responded immediately, and we knew we had a hit on our hands," Len Van Popering, Subway's chief brand and innovation officer, said in a press release. Garlic, butter, and Subway's signature bread—what's not to love?
Not to be confused with Subway's other cheese-flavored mainstay, the Italian Herb and Cheese, the Ultimate Cheesy Garlic Bread boasts real butter, roasted garlic, parmesan, and mozzarella cheese. (For a cheese comparison, the Italian Herb and Cheese bread just contains parmesan.) Now, you don't have to head to an Italian restaurant for a sit-down meal to get freshly baked garlic bread—you can go to your local Subway shop location for a quick lunch or dinner sub. We bet you can already smell the scent of that bread baking!
This isn't the first new bread the sub chain has tried this year. It's also experimented with a King's Hawaiian bread and a ciabatta collection, too, according to QSR.
Because this relaunched bread is a garlic-soaked dream, it'll go well with any of Subway's sandwich offerings—particularly the meatball sub and "spicy Italian" options—but the chain recommends that patrons pair it with another brand-new menu item: the ultimate steak sandwich.
The ultimate steak sandwich combines savory steak, green peppers, and red onions with a dash of salt and pepper. (Sorry, breath mints not included.)
No matter what your usual Subway order is, we think we can all agree that everything tastes just a little bit better on a slab of garlic bread.
