Why You Can’t Find the McRib at Your Nearest Mcdonald’s
By Dana Leigh Smith
Earlier this summer, McDonald’s announced that its famous McRib was making a return. But just like a $2 bill, you’d be hard pressed to find a location that actually has one.
McDonald’s spokeswoman Lisa McComb told CNBC that only about 55 percent of the chain's U.S. locations plan to carry the annual limited-time sandwich this year, a 20 percent drop from 2014. Some northeast locations, including select restaurants in northeast Pennsylvania and greater Pittsburgh, have announced via Twitter that they’re selling the 500-calorie pork patty sandwich. However, fans in other parts of the country may have to consult the McRib locator website. The site, which is not officially associated with the fast food chain, was developed to help fans report McRib sightings and hunt down the menu item in their area. Innovative!
