Wendy's Is Launching an All-New Chili Burger Only Available in These States

Sorry, but the "Carolina Classic Burger" is only available in the Carolinas.

Maybe you've had a chili-topped hot dog on the boardwalk, or you've had a "Carolina dog" loaded with chili, coleslaw, and onions. But hot dogs aren't the only grill food that's better with chili and slaw. The Wendy's Carolina Classic Burger is here, and it's topped with all of the delicious extras you might expect to find on a flat-top dog. You don't have to sweat over a pot of chili or head to the beach—the classic toppings are now at Wendy's. All you have to do is head to the restaurant, place your order, and get ready for a boardwalk-meets-Southern delight.

What comes on the new Wendy's burger?

The Wendy's Carolina Classic Burger is loaded with chili, coleslaw, onions, and mustard, and it's available for a limited time only in both North and South Carolina. This isn't the first time it's been on the Wendy's menu, but it's a limited-time offering that isn't available year-round.

And diners from the South will know that Carolinians love topping things with coleslaw—preferably the vinegar-based kind—so the new burger is a real treat. The Carolina-style burger was previously available at Charlotte, NC, Wendy's locations, but it's now for sale in Wendy's restaurants across both states.

How long will the burger be around?

A Wendy's press release didn't state how long the burger will be around, but it definitely won't be forever. So if a mustard-topped, coleslaw-laden burger sounds good to you, you might want to head to Wendy's sooner rather than later.

But once the Wendy's burger's run is over, you'll still be able to get a burger with the same toppings at another standby in the Carolinas. Local fast-food chain Cook Out offers a "Cook Out Style" burger, topped with chili, coleslaw, mustard, and onions. (And yes, there's a "Cook Out Style" hot dog on the menu, too.) It won't be Wendy's chili, but it's still a solid fast-food option.

And if you're not in the Carolinas, you can certainly build a chili-topped burger at Wendy's yourself—but when it comes to the coleslaw, you're on your own.
