Great Divide Brewing Company is a Denver mainstay, which opened in 1994 with just a staff of one. Today, it's considered the best brewery not just in Denver, but in the entire state. It also deserves praise for its commitment to brewing in the most eco-friendly way possible.

"Great Divide has plenty of space, is located in an easy-to-find spot, has incredibly friendly employees, has a few board games, and hosts a free tour every hour," wrote one reviewer. FLORIDA: Funky Buddha Brewery in Oakland Park

MONTANA: Blackfoot River Brewing in Helena

NEBRASKA: Boiler Brewing Company in Lincoln

Brewmaster Tim Thomssen has won a number of honors, including the 2015 Sam Adams LongShot Award. NEW MEXICO: La Cumbre Brewing Company in Albuquerque

This modern artisanal brewery uses the area's brewing history as an inspiration for recipes. Port City Brewing's most popular flagship beer is the Downright Pilsner, which won a gold medal at the 2014 World Beer Championships. The menu also includes rotating seasonal and experimental options which you can enjoy in the taproom or on a tour of the brewery.

Fremont Brewing Company is best known for its popular Summer Ale and Interurban IPA. but If you are looking for some more creative, experimental brews, you'll find that here, too. The Black Hero Project experiments with small batches of local hops which are popular among reviewers. Fremont Brewing also has a lovely beer garden where you can relax and enjoy your brew of choice.

"There's a pretty large selection of beers and there's always a cider on tap. I was even excited the last time I visited, given a sour was on tap!" wrote a frequent customer. "Just like any Seattle-based company, there's more than enough IPAs as well."

WEST VIRGINIA: Screech Owl Brewing in Bruceton Mills

Located in the mountains of West Virginia, Screech Owl Brewing has been serving unfiltered, unpasteurized farmhouse ales since 2015. Founders and brewmasters Crista and Roger Johnson use as many locally sourced ingredients as possible when making their flagship brews which include Bold Blonde Ale, Threshing Floor Wheat, Wild, and Wonderful Strawberry Ale, Hoo's Your Daddy IPA, and Muddy Creek Ale.

"My husband and I recently decided to give this hidden gem a shot. Let me just say, they did not disappoint! The staff is super friendly, very welcoming, and attentive," wrote one reviewer. WISCONSIN: Lakefront Brewery in Milwaukee

Lakefront Brewery has a popular "My Turn" series, in which a line of brews are created and personally brewed by their staffers. Lakefront also offers a wide variety of ales and lagers, such as the Riverwest Stein and the seasonal favorite Wisconsite. Lakefront has one of the most popular brewery tours in the state, so be sure to carve out a few hours for your visit.

"Having done Lakefront's legendary tour twice, highly recommend for its informative but funny guides, along with tasters and a full pint," wrote a local reviewer. "If you're not familiar with Lakefront beers, Riverwest Stein and their IPA are good starters, the MyTurn Series lets their employees brew a beer of their own making, and taproom exclusives abound, you'll find something you like!"

WYOMING: Snake River Brewing in Jackson

Located in a cinder block building in the Teton Mountain Range, Snake River Brewing is a cozy, no-frills brewpub that has been named "Small Brewery of the Year" by the Great American Beer Festival.

"Really cool spot. Atmosphere is fantastic. The brews are really nice with most being IPAs," wrote one visitor, while another praised the "wonderful selection of beers" along with the recommendation to order the sampler of eight beers. "You can't go wrong with anything," they added.
