Starbucks Menu Prices Are Going Up

Get this: Each year American workers spend nearly the same amount of money on their commute as they do on their coffee. And thanks to price increases that took effect last Tuesday, Starbucks customers will be shelling out even more cash to fuel their caffeine habit.

Tall and venti latte and mocha drinks increased 15 to 20 cents per cup, while grande and venti brewed coffees saw an increase of 10 to 15 cents. The price of 12-ounce bags of packaged coffee sold at grocery stores also increased by $1, from $8.99 to $9.99. Thankfully, no other food or beverage items went up in cost. Though 10 to 20 cents might seem insignificant, you'll wind dishing out an additional $36 to $73 on coffee each year if you buy a Starbucks coffee every day. Interestingly enough, Starbucks made these price increases even though Dunkin’ Donuts and Folgers are decreasing their costs due to the falling cost of Arabica beans.
