One day they’re axing items, the next they’re adding new “premium” burgers and dishes with kale. Now, the fast-food chain plans to trim the fat—metaphorically speaking, of course—from their drive-thru menu.
In a webcast meeting with franchise owners earlier this week, Mickey D’s executives announced that they plan to “display only the top-selling drive-through items on outside menu boards in an effort to speed up orders and improve service." That means you might have to get out of your car and actually walk inside the restaurant if you want to get your favorite dish. However, there’s no word yet on which items are getting the axe. If we had to guess, however, we’d say long-standing classics like the McNuggets and Egg McMuffin won’t be among them. Executives also announced that they plan to create a more scaled down drive-thru-friendly version of their build-your-own-burger machine, “TasteCrafted.”
